MCS Module
MCS (multicast switch) module is based on PLC technology and MEMS technology. It is specially designed for the next generation of ROADM (Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer) system. Each unit consists of M independent splitters and N independent MEMS switches, which help route the optical direction add (or drop) from N to M port, and can route any optical signal from input to any output; MCS coordinates with wavelength selective switch (WSS) can realize the wavelength independent, direction independent and conflict free configuration flexibility of ROADM, which is of great significance for the flexibility and low cost of network construction.
